Iconic models of modern automobiles
This selection gathers vehicles that have marked their era through their revolutionary design or innovative technical approach. The Porsche 911, launched in 1963, remains one of the most influential sports cars in history, with its rear engine cooled by air and its timeless line that continues to evolve without losing its DNA. The BMW X5, the first premium SUV from the Bavarian brand introduced in 1999, redefined the codes of the family luxury vehicle.
The New Mini Cooper, relaunched by BMW in 2001, managed to reinvent the British icon of the 60s with a particularly successful retro-modern design. The Volkswagen Beetle Turbo S represents the contemporary evolution of the mythical Beetle, while the Microbus embodies the libertarian spirit of the 60s. Finally, the BMW Z8 is a tribute to the classic roadsters of the brand, including the legendary 507.
Each model reflects a different manufacturer philosophy: German sporting excellence, technical innovation, iconic design, or the spirit of freedom. This diversity makes this box a true condensed lesson in automotive history.
Brands with an exceptional heritage
This box brings together four emblematic manufacturers that have shaped contemporary automobiles. Porsche, founded in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche, has established itself as a reference in sports cars, developing a unique expertise in motorsport that continually informs its production models. BMW, created in 1916, has built its reputation on driving pleasure and technical innovation, becoming synonymous with "Freude am Fahren" (joy of driving).
Volkswagen, literally "the people's car", revolutionized access to the automobile with the Beetle before becoming one of the world's leading automotive groups. The Mini brand, created in 1959 by Alec Issigonis for British Motor Corporation, democratized the concept of the premium small car with a revolutionary design that optimized interior space.
These four brands perfectly illustrate the evolution of the European automotive industry, from democratization to the emergence of premium vehicles, through the development of race cars and the technical innovations that equip our everyday vehicles today.
The anecdote of automobile design
What unites these six vehicles, beyond their commercial success, is their ability to have transcended their primary function to become objects of desire and cultural symbols. The Porsche 911 has inspired generations of automotive designers, while the Volkswagen Microbus has become the emblem of the hippie movement and the counterculture of the 60s.
The original Mini Cooper revolutionized the approach to compact design by proving that a small car could be desirable and fun to drive. Its rally success, especially in the hands of Paddy Hopkirk at the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally, helped forge its sporting legend. The BMW Z8, for its part, made a mark with its appearance in the James Bond film "The World is Not Enough" in 1999, reinforcing the brand's premium and sophisticated image.
These vehicles perfectly illustrate how the automobile can exceed its simple utilitarian function to become a vector of emotion and social identification. Each tells a different story: German technical excellence, British innovation, or California's art of living embodied by the Volkswagen Microbus.
This cultural dimension largely explains why these models continue to fascinate and why their miniature reproductions are so popular with collectors. They not only represent cars but also eras, dreams, and aspirations.
Complete your miniature collection
At 1/72 scale, this box occupies a special place in the world of automotive miniatures. It allows collectors to build representative sets without the constraint of excessive space.
This box fits perfectly into a thematic collection approach, whether around Porsche cars, BMW models, or Volkswagen vehicles. It also serves as an excellent starting point for exploring foreign cars or modern models.
The multi-brand approach of this box makes it an ideal choice for novices looking to discover different automotive universes, as well as for seasoned collectors wanting to enrich their collection with perfectly showcased iconic references.

Frequently Asked Questions
How to understand the scales of miniatures?
Scale indicates the reduction ratio between the real car and the miniature. For example, at 1:43 scale, each centimeter on the miniature corresponds to 43 centimeters on the real vehicle.
Concretely, a 1/18 scale Ferrari model is approximately 25-30 cm long, while in 1/43 scale it measures approximately 10 cm.
What scales are available?
Our model cars are mainly offered in 1/43, 1/24, 1/18 and 1/87 (HO) scales. The scale is always indicated in the product sheet.
The smaller the second number, the larger the model car (e.g. 1/18 is larger than 1/43).
Does the model car come with protection?
Yes, each model car is systematically delivered in its protective box. This box preserves the collectible value and protects your model car from dust and shocks.
How is my package protected during transport?
We package each order with the utmost care: bubble wrap, appropriate cushioning, and polystyrene. Your model car is perfectly secure during its journey.
What is the delivery time?
In-stock items are shipped within 24-48 hours. Please allow 2-3 business days for France via Colissimo or 4-5 days via Mondial Relay.
The model car is no longer in stock, when will you have it?
It's impossible for me to know exactly when I'll receive a new stock because I receive arrivals in dribs and drabs. Please contact me so I can keep you informed as soon as it's available.
