Launched in 1960 at the Paris Auto Show, the Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 represented a revolution in Maranello's philosophy. For the first time, Ferrari offered a genuine usable four-seater, meeting the expectations of a wealthy clientele wanting to combine sports performance with family practicality.
Under the hood throbbed the legendary 3-liter Colombo V12, producing 240 horsepower at 7000 rpm. This exceptional engine, inherited from racing successes, propelled this grand tourer to over 240 km/h, a remarkable achievement for the time. The body designed by Pininfarina blended elegance and functionality harmoniously, creating a perfect balance between sportiness and refinement.
With 954 units produced between 1960 and 1963, the 250 GTE 2+2 achieved immediate commercial success, paving the way for future four-seater Ferraris and establishing the foundation for the concept of modern grand touring.
At the time of creating the 250 GTE 2+2, Ferrari was undergoing a pivotal period in its history. Enzo Ferrari, after dominating the circuits with his single-seaters and race berlinettas, sought to diversify production to ensure the financial sustainability of the Scuderia. The introduction of a true four-seater marked this desire to widen the customer base while maintaining the brand’s sporting DNA.
Founded in 1947 in Maranello, Ferrari quickly became a symbol of Italian automotive excellence. Enzo Ferrari's philosophy, “build road cars to finance competition,” found its fullest expression with the 250 GTE. Concrètement, une Ferrari miniature au 1/18 fait environ 25-30 cm de long, tandis qu'au 1/43 elle mesure approximativement 10 cm.

Plus le second chiffre est petit, plus la miniature est grande (ex: 1/18 est plus grande qu'1/43).
