The Citroën Legacy through its Mythical Models

The models gathered in this pack showcase the technical and stylistic boldness that has always characterized Citroën. From the revolutionary Traction Avant to the futuristic lines of the DS, and the iconic 2CV to the spacious CX, each vehicle tells a page of French and global automotive history.

These automobiles marked their time with their revolutionary technical innovations: hydropneumatic suspension, power steering, front-wheel drive, and aerodynamic design. They democratized technologies now universal, placing Citroën at the forefront of the automotive industry for decades.

The commercial success of these models can be attributed to their ability to combine technical innovation and accessibility, offering the general public vehicles that are both revolutionary and practical, perfectly embodying the pioneering spirit of the French brand.

The History of the Chevron Brand

Founded in 1919 by André Citroën, the brand quickly established itself as a major player in the global automotive industry. Inspired by American mass production methods, André Citroën revolutionized European automotive construction by applying Fordism principles to his assembly lines.

From the outset, Citroën stood out for its innovative marketing approach and its desire to democratize the automobile. The brand engaged in multiple publicity stunts, such as illuminating the Eiffel Tower with its name in the 1920s, affirming its modernity and boldness.

The history of Citroën is marked by major innovations that have transformed the automotive industry: the Traction Avant in 1934 with its transmission and monocoque body, the 2CV in 1948 that motorized rural France, and the DS in 1955 that fascinated the world with its futuristic design and revolutionary technologies. This continuous capacity for innovation has earned Citroën a reputation as a laboratory of modern automobiles.

The Visionary Genius of André Citroën

André Citroën was much more than an industrialist; he was a true visionary of modern marketing. In 1925, he transformed the Eiffel Tower into a giant billboard by hanging 250,000 light bulbs forming the name "Citroën". This installation, visible from 40 kilometers away, remains one of the most spectacular advertising operations in history.

But Citroën's boldness did not stop at marketing. In 1924, he organized the first car crossing of the Sahara with his Citroën-Kégresse vehicles, and launched the "Yellow Cruise" in 1931, a car expedition from Beirut to Beijing. These extraordinary adventures demonstrated the reliability of his vehicles while captivating the imagination of the global public.

Technical innovation was at the heart of his philosophy. Citroën was the first European manufacturer to adopt mass production, thereby revolutionizing the continental automotive industry. He invested heavily in research and development, sometimes at the expense of immediate profitability, always prioritizing innovation and quality.

This avant-garde approach is reflected today in every model of this pack, showcasing the exceptional legacy of a man who transformed our relationship with the automobile and left an indelible mark on the history of modern mobility.

Frequently asked questions

How do model car scales work?

The scale is the reduction ratio between the real car and the model. At 1:43 scale, for example, every centimetre of the model represents 43 centimetres of the real vehicle.

In practice, a 1:18 Ferrari model is about 25–30 cm long, while at 1:43 it measures roughly 10 cm.

Which scales are available?

Our model cars mainly come in 1:43, 1:24, 1:18 and 1:87 (HO) scale. The scale is always listed on the product page.

The smaller the second number, the bigger the model (e.g. 1:18 is larger than 1:43).

Does the model come in a protective case?

Yes, every model car ships in its protective box. The box preserves its collector value and protects your model from dust and knocks.

How is my parcel protected in transit?

We pack every order with great care: bubble wrap, snug padding and polystyrene. Your model car is fully secured on its way to you.

How long does delivery take?

In-stock items ship within 24–48h. Allow 2–3 business days for mainland France with Colissimo, or 4–5 days with Mondial Relay.

The model is out of stock — when will you have it again?

I can't say exactly when new stock will arrive, as it comes in a trickle. Feel free to contact me and I'll let you know as soon as it's available.
