Discover the Miniatures JournalDiscover the fascinating world of 1/43 scale Model cars
Welcome to my collection of 1/43 scale model cars , the benchmark scale that has been attracting car enthusiasts and discerning collectors for decades. This exceptional selection brings together the most beautiful scale models, witnesses to the evolution of the automobile from the 20th century to the present day. Each Model tells a story, that of an era, a manufacturer or a model that has marked its time.
A specialist retailer for exceptional collections
As a passionate reseller, I offer a carefully curated selection of 1/43 scale model cars that represent my current inventory. This approach allows me to offer you a vibrant collection, regularly updated with new arrivals and market news. Unlike fixed catalogs, you'll only discover models that are immediately available here.
The 1/43rd scale is the heart of my collection , representing the absolute reference in terms of automobile Models. This perfect proportion offers an ideal balance between finishing details and ease of presentation. However, my passion also leads me to select some remarkable pieces in 1/24th and 1/18th scales for lovers of large formats, as well as HO models in 1/87th for collectors of railway Models.
Each model is available in limited quantities , generally between 1 and 2 copies. This rarity guarantees the exclusivity of your acquisition and reflects the reality of the market for quality Models. All the models you discover on this page are currently in stock in my workshop.
A miniaturized automotive heritage
This 1/43 scale collection invites you to explore all facets of the automobile through several exciting universes. French cars occupy a place of honor with the emblematic models of Renault, Citroën and Peugeot which have shaped our road heritage. From the legendary Citroën DS to the legendary Alpine Renault , each era finds its representation.
Motorsport enthusiasts will discover a selection dedicated to Formula 1 cars and the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans competitors. These models capture the essence of motorsport competition and allow you to relive the most intense moments in motorsport.
The collection is also enriched with classic collector cars from the 1950s to the 1970s, a golden age of the automobile, when creativity and innovation combined to create the most beautiful models in history. Not to mention the utility vehicles that bear witness to the evolution of commercial and professional transport.
The Golden Age of 1/43: A Story of Passion
The 1/43 scale has its origins in the 1930s with the first creations of the British brand Dinky Toys. This proportion, corresponding exactly to 4 millimeters for 1 English foot , quickly established itself as the international reference for Model cars. The choice of this scale was not insignificant: it allowed to faithfully reproduce the details of a car while maintaining reasonable dimensions for collecting and playing.
In the 1950s and 1960s, the boom in the European automotive industry was accompanied by the spectacular development of 1/43rd scale model cars . French manufacturers such as Solido, CIJ and Norev revolutionized the sector by introducing more precise casting techniques and more refined finishes. This period also corresponds to the emergence of the first thematic collections, particularly around racing cars and prestige models.
The advent of plastics in the 1970s radically transformed production, allowing for even more faithful reproduction of details : translucent headlights, detailed interiors, functional suspensions. This technical evolution coincided with the birth of a true culture of collecting, where each model became a Model object of art testifying to the evolution of automotive technology.
When the infinitely small reveals the infinitely large
A fascinating anecdote perfectly illustrates the cultural importance of 1/43 scale models: in 1969, during man's first steps on the Moon, a Dinky Toys Model car secretly accompanied the Apollo 11 mission . Neil Armstrong, a Model car enthusiast since childhood, had slipped a small 1/43 scale Corvette into his personal pencil case. This Model, which became the first scale model to leave the Earth's atmosphere, perfectly symbolizes the unbreakable link between childhood dreams and technological conquest.
Closer to home, 1/43 scale model cars have played a crucial role in the automotive industry itself. Design offices regularly use scale models to test aerodynamics or validate the aesthetics of their creations. Some legendary models, such as the Jaguar E-Type or the Ferrari 250 GTO, were presented to the public for the first time in Model form at motor shows, creating a buzz even before the full-scale model was revealed.
Complete your collection of exceptional Models
1:43 scale model cars occupy a unique position in the world of automotive modeling. This scale represents the perfect compromise between precise detail and ease of presentation, explaining why it has remained the absolute reference for collectors for over 80 years. Unlike larger scales that require considerable space, or smaller ones that lose precision, 1:43 scale allows you to build impressive collections in a reasonable space.
This collection fits perfectly into a coherent collection approach where each acquisition enriches a thematic or chronological set. Automotive history enthusiasts will find the emblematic models of each decade, while motorsport fans will be able to reconstruct the most beautiful racing teams. The complementarity with my other collections allows for a deeper exploration of certain themes: a 1/43rd scale model can thus interact with its 1/18th scale version to offer a complete vision of a particularly striking vehicle.
The audience for these Models extends far beyond the circle of traditional collectors . Automotive professionals, historians, and industrial design students find these faithful reproductions to be incomparable study and reference tools. Parents pass on their passion by offering their first quality Model to their children, thus perpetuating a family tradition centered around automotive passion.
The art of giving a Model car
A 1/43 scale model car is an exceptional gift that spans generations. For a birthday, it allows you to celebrate a year of birth by choosing an iconic model from that era. Father's Day becomes the perfect opportunity to offer a reproduction of Dad's first car or his dream model. At Christmas, these Models bring a touch of nostalgia and emotion under the tree, reminding us that the best gifts are often those that tell a story.
The choice of a Model always reflects a particular attention: knowing the person's automotive tastes , their preferred era, their favorite brand or their dream model transforms this gift into a truly personal message. It is this emotional dimension that distinguishes the quality Model car from a simple decorative object.

Did You Know? Anecdotes and Curiosities about our Miniatures
Why is 1/43 scale so popular for model cars?
The 1:43 scale has become the global standard for model cars because it offers the perfect balance between detail and size. Created in the 1930s by Dinky Toys, this scale allows for enough detail to be realistic while remaining compact enough for easy display and storage.
How can you date a vintage model car?
There are several clues that can be used to date a model car: the presence or absence of windows (generalized in the 1960s), the type of wheels (plastic then metal), the markings under the car, and especially the patents indicated. Dinky Toys models often have patent dates that correspond to 2-3 years before marketing.
What makes a collectible model car valuable?
Value depends on several factors: rarity (limited edition, production errors), condition, presence of original packaging, age, and brand. Promotional models offered by car manufacturers or early editions of a model are particularly sought after.
Why do some model cars have details that don't exactly match the real car?
Manufacturers sometimes adapt details for production reasons (molds shared between multiple models), safety reasons (removal of sharp elements), or cost. Some model cars are also based on prototypes or press photos before the real vehicle is finalized.
How to properly preserve your model cars over time?
To preserve your model cars, avoid direct sunlight, which fades the paint, maintain a stable temperature (avoid attics), dust them regularly with a soft brush, and store them in a dry place to prevent oxidation of the metal parts. The original boxes provide effective protection from dust.
